Online System for Visual Geo-Localization in Natural Environment
Pospíšil, Miroslav ; Čadík, Martin (referee) ; Brejcha, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this master thesis is creation of an online system serving as a performing application for presentation results of visual geo-localization in nature and mountain environment. The system offers the users to choose one of the pre-defined photographs or~to~upload one's own photography while choosing a file or inserting an URL address. The~system will localizate a camera of a given image based on a visual geo-localization. The~geo-localization uses the mountain horizon as a key characteristic when searching for similar horizons. The~curve line of the horizon is extracted by a fully automatic algorithm based on supervised learning and dynamic programming. Visual geo-localization running on the server which using new inversed index with cache politic. This allows further scaling of the system. The server processing detected horizon curve and respond with set of the best candidates on results. Results are visualised to the user in form of classic map, detailed sattelite view and rendering of found panorama.
Objective and subjective dangers when moving in the Czech mountains during the winter season
Žmolík, Jiří ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Sýkora, Karel (referee)
Title: Objective and subjective dangers when moving in the Czech mountains during the winter season Objectives: The primary goal of this work is to provide relevant and up-to-date information for the safe realization of outdoor activities in winter mountain environments. It aims to familiarize individuals with the objective and subjective dangers and risks posed by mountainous terrain during the winter season, when the Czech mountain ranges are covered with snow. The secondary goal is to compile a comprehensive set of recommendations on how to mitigate the objective and subjective dangers through proper procedures to ensure a safe level of engagement. Methods: The chosen method for this study was a literature review. The sources were selected based on their relevance to the specific topic, the expertise of the content, and, in many cases, the practical and theoretical knowledge of the author. On the other hand, sources that were older than thirty years were not utilized in order to maintain the currency of the information, regardless of the author's practical and theoretical skills or knowledge. This decision was primarily driven by the goal of providing relevant and up-to-date information for the safe realization of outdoor activities in mountain environments. Considering safety, there is no room...

Customers' satisfaction assessment of tourist tours - a case study of CK Alpina tours to Bulgaria
Strnadlová, Markéta ; Turčová, Ivana (advisor) ; Vomáčko, Ladislav (referee)
Title: Customers' satisfaction assessment of tourist tours - a case study of CK Alpina tours to Bulgaria Aim: Through questioning and direct observation to evaluate customer satisfaction at selected CK Alpina tours to Bulgaria and propose changes in the final questionnaire. Methods: For obtaining necessary data we used questioning and observation. The questioning used the existing questionnaire CK Alpina containing 7 questions. Customers rated satisfaction with Likert's scale, but they could use an open answer. The Likert's scale was evaluated quantitatively by assigning the stamps by answers. For word responses was made categorization. There were direct, hidden observations of my person on two tours. Observed phenomena were selected based on operationalization and external stimulus. Results: Satisfaction of clients with both, the tour program and tour guides, was found at all five tours to Bulgaria. The biggest drawbacks occurred with the bus service CK Alpina ordered from the carriers. We have developed a new questionnaire, which is more focused on the characteristics, abilities and skills of the guide. The initial questionnaire did not include questions about accommodation and meals. For today's customers the importance of these factors is increasing, therefore these questions are not missing in...
The role of high-altitude habitats for speciation of central European endemics from the genus Campanula
Folbrová, Magdaléna ; Šemberová, Kristýna (advisor) ; Reif, Jiří (referee)
Mountain environment plays an important role in plant's life. Extreme conditions lead to continuous speciation accompanied by a complex processes e.g. geographical isolation (variation) or polyploidization. These processes can be studied by using a suitable model plant, represented in this thesis by selected mountain endemic bellflowers species belonging to Campanula rotundifolia agg. These species appear to be morphologically very similar but they are supposed to be of different origin. Mountain ecosystem is considered to be one of the most diverse and the most valuable environment for nature conservation. It hosts many endangered plants as well as plants protected by law. From the model group, these plants are represented by Campanula bohemica Hruby, Campanula gelida Kovanda and Campanula rotundifolia subsp. sudetica (Hruby) Soó. This thesis aims to sum up the up the current knowledge about a high altitude environment and endemism and to give a description of speciation mechanisms leading to the variability of mountain Campanula species. Further descriptions of their endangerment level, conservation and origin are also given. The subsequent MSc Thesis, introduced in the last part of this thesis, aims to reveal the origin of Czech and Slovakian mountain Campanula endemics. It is mainly focused on...
